"LOVE THE PLACE"
Myself, lots of friends and family have been coming and going to the Emerald Hotel for the last five years, sometimes twice a year in June and September. We have become friends with the owners and would find it very hard to stay anywhere else in Malia. We love the location, the rooms, the service, the pool, the gardens, the food, just about everything about the place.
If you are over the age of thirty it's a great place to stay especially in June & September. We are all different ages from 16 to 50+ and we believe Malia has something for everyone - and it's all within easy walking distance from the Emerald.
We have made friends with lots of other people (of all nationalities) in Malia. We have our favourite places to go including restaurants (Totto Lotto in the village), bars(Kipuli - 24 hour bar, Connexions - both in the village), clubs, beaches, tours, shops, days out, people, families, etc.
We are going back on 16th September, 2005 for two weeks and taking two MALIA VIRGINS with us (that is two people for whom it will be ther first time in Malia!). I am sure they will love it at the EMERALD HOTEL and will be returning again and again.
IF YOUR GONNA BE THERE ON THOSE DATES TOO - THEN SEE YOU IN THE BAR - AND SAY YIASSOU!!
"awesome holiday!!!!!!!!!"
Awesome holiday, Ive been home for 3 days and want to go back already!!!!! This hotel was great! Great weather, great location and great people.
This was the first time we had been to Malia and we would definitely stay in these apartments again if we were to return.
It is a family run hotel and we found all of the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and the maids came to clean our room 3-4 times in the week we were there.
The apartments are set in close to shops, bars and restaurants and its very quiet. Infact, at the Emerald you can open a bedroom window at 3am and NOT be deafened by music.
A reasonable achievement in a 'lively' resort like Malia.
Great cheap pool side snacks & drinks great surrounds and an ideal location!
I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!
"LOVELY HOLIDAYS!"
EMERALD STUDIOS in my 3 years of visiting Malia in several hotels , are excellent quality for self catering accom in Malia. Cleaned every other day and my linen were changed twice a week not less than what you do at home. My room was spacious and very clean. Dont forget that Emerald is not a 5 stars hotel and since they are self-catering do not expect to provide you with toilet paper every day. I cant believe that people are moaning about that! Its less than a few p to get one from the super market! This is self catering remember!
Pool is in a good size for a small hotel and very very clean. I loved the gardens. I used them for quiet sunbathing away from the pool and the splashing! The bathroom has got a shower and of course it didnt have a shower curtain. Dont expect it. In none of the hotel I stayed in Malia they had one. But thats not a problem at all! And its the only hotel I feel safe in because they always have a security guard . Also in none of the Malia hotels they aloud overnight quests according to a greek law. But I dont think they would call the police if you brought one!
Drinks are cheap for a hotel bar, people think prices are a rip off as the expect to pay 10p for a pint or they go down the strip and find the 2 for 1 or other buy 1 get 94 free deals where u get next to no alcohol in your drink.
Or surprisingly enough they buy it from supermarket cheap and think its expensive in the bar.(isnt this true anywhere can o lager in Tesco 69p same can of beer in a pub in UK £2.50 etc etc) And we dont carry our own drinks or food into the pub back at home so why should people do it here I really dont understand. Its stupid and inconsiderate. The pool bar provides good food for good price and I ate there most of the time. And the slush cocktails were fantastic.
Good location near to the strip, close to a main road but set back and only 10 minutes to the beach.
The staff are great and friendly and helpful. A big hi! I ll see them again in summer 2007 cause thats the hotel im gonna stay in Malia for now on. SEE YOU THERE!!!!!
"loved it"
First time in Malia and in the Emerald Hotel. How ace was it!!!!!!!!!!
Highly reccomend it to anyone. The best location, lovely rooms, clean, quiet, friendly people, yummy food and cocktails. definitely go back again.
STAY THERE!!!!!!!!!!!
"the best hotel i have repped for "
EMERALD Studios in my 3 years of repping a few years ago in Malia were excellent quality for self catering accommodation in Malia. Good location near to the strip, close to a main road but set back so you never hear the the road traffic or the noise from the strip. Overall very modern rooms and well kept.
Cleaned every other day, bed sheets and towels were cleaned twice a week and the rooms are self catering so how do you expect to provide you even with toilet paper every day? Buy it yourself like you do with so many other things like drinks from the super market! Its not pricey!
The pool is not very big but remembers its not a big hotel so its pool has the right size you would exp
The staff is great and friendly and helpful.
The BBQ provides good food and I eat there a few times during the season to know.
Drinks are fairly priced for a hotel bar, and the food is fantastic.
Fans for hire are also cheap and non compulsory and serves to cool you down. Fort the people that moaned on the price dont bloody get it then its an optional service but you try sleeping in a hot country without it. Also the only places you get air con free is large 5* hotels etc. This is self catering remember!
Also in most of the accommodations in Malia they put a price list for damages mostly to keep people of from damaging the properties. You dont want to know the damages I have seen in hotels in my 3 years of repping.
Some hotels even ask for deposit money because of that. And also the rule about overnight quests is very common among all the hotels in Greece not just in Emerald.
Overall this is one of the best hotels I've repped in and I would recommend it to anyone!
"Brill"
my stay was brill and will be going back again i like he pool the rooms where nice and the staff was very good speacialy nickos how is a leagend part when he took the mick when man u lost 2 reading. the rep at hotel was lovely aswel hayle she very very nice and helpful the food was nice a cheap as well which is good cause everything else in malia is expensive the drink was good aswell so it was a a good hotel which makes a good start of having a good holiday.
"GREAT"
Shabba! I can only describe this holiday as Extreme!
I went with very low expectations, expecting nothing more than a basic room in an average resort but I came home after experiencing the best holiday ever!
I went with 1 friend, as did most people in the hotel but the key was getting to know everyone else there. I left with 15 new friends who unlike previously, I actually intend to keep in touch with.
Emma who works in the evenings is not only stunning but one of the nicest barmaids Ive ever met. I couldn't have a drink in the evening without her insisting I give a karaoke rendition before everyone went out on the town. She nearly every guest by name and always shouted hello as you walked into the bar.
The apartments are just a 5 minute walk from the main strip of bars and around 15-20 minutes from the beach. They are close enough to stumble to after a heavy night and far enough away not to be disturbed.
I would whole-heartedly recommend these studios to anyone travelling to Malia, both the party lovers and those wanting a relaxing break with the option of a big night out.
Overall what made my holiday as good as it was were the other guests- who I became very close to and formed a really good friendship with. I would advise anybody visiting to get to know the other guests as early as possible so you can enjoy all the benefits a large group brings (i.e. very cheap drinks!).
The escapades reps were fantastic and not too 'in your face', the excursions were good albeit a little pricey at times.
Get it booked now!!
"DEFINITELY RETURN"
Just come back from a weeks stay in malia, what a holiday!! It has to be one of the best holidays I ever been to. There was a group of 8 of us, we stayed in the Emerald Studio. Before we got there we thought we probably made a mistake booking this hotel, but once we got there, I could tell you the hotel made our holiday. It was clean, the layout was nice, it was compact, the pool isnt very big but itll do, and the staff - they were the most polite people I ever came across.
Emma and Nichola, the two ladies who dont know anything else apart from smile and being freindly. and it wasnt a act, it was genuine! They would join in for a laugh and made sure we was feeling welcomed. The only downside is the cleaners; they would storm into our rooms any hours in the morning, which is annoying after a long night of partying, and throw things around.
One morning I had to tell them to get lost!! They clean the room twice a week, although that may sound like nothing, but I can assure you when your out clubbing every night it doesnt matter. The rooms are basics, no kettle, limited number of glasses - be careful anything you damage from a glass to the bed - will have to be paid for!!
Theres a price list on the table. The strip is about 2 minutes walk and the beach is about 10mins, theres all sort of excursions on the beach, although I found the Greek people quite rude, I didnt care. Night life wasnt what I expected, there isnt really that many clubs, there are a lot of bars, but I wouldnt like to be stuck in a bar all night! Overall its ok. We kept on going back to the same places, which was the downside to our holiday. Personally I didnt care I was pissed most of the time. I would definitely recommend people going out to malia, 2 weeks is to long, 1 week is to short, 10 days would be perfect. we wanted to book for 10 days but was told by our travel agents the hotels only take bookings for either 7days or 14 days. Our loss! I will definitely return
