We follow the trails of historical Crete, where no ordinary vehicle can reach. We experience the true life of Crete, witnessing its traditions, seeing the true natural beauty, historical monuments, archaeological finds, national parks, the local people and their rugged way of life.

We travel well off the beaten track using our Land Rover "Defenders" which is a safe and hassle free way of witnessing the places and wildlife that most people only see in the brochures or from an armchair.

Route 1 - PREVELI

Our day is the perfect way to explore the southern part of Crete with mountain’s and gorges to beautiful palm beaches.

Our journey starts as we head towards the wilderness and high altitudes where you have a helicopter view of one of the magnificent gorges, where you can see the vultures, which are now an endangered species. We pass thru small traditional villages full of character and interest and make a brief stop for our guest to take photos of the beautiful scenery before a coffee stop at one of the mountain villages. Back in the vehicles again and thru the mountains we come to our next stop. Everyone will be impressed with the village of Spili. This is most famous for its spring water. Over 25 lion head fountains have cold mountain water running all year round. Small shops sell hand made souvenirs and traditional hand crafts.

On through dirt tracks, bumpy roads we see more villages, where time has virtually stood still. After passing through Kerame our guest’s can see the panoramic view of the southern Cretan coast and the Libyan sea.

After getting dusty and dirty a swim at Preveli Beach will be very welcomed!!!  Preveli is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Its tall palm trees and crystal clear water were even chosen to advertise Bacardi on television it is the only beach where guests can swim in cold mountain water or ocean water in the same place.

Working up an appetite, walking back from the beach we stop for a traditional Cretan meal with unlimited wine. After lunch, we start the climb back up into the mountains for more dramatic scenery, and more photos as we drive thru Kroustaliotico Gorge. As we head back everyone can see the entire city of Rethimno from the top of a mountain which can only be reached by Land Rovers.

This is a day full of many surprises. The excitement is second to none!!! You certainly won’t forget your fun day out on our GREAT ADVENTURE.

Route 2 - LASSITHI PLATEAU

Our day is the perfect way to explore the central part of Crete with two different plateaus, mythology and lots of information about Crete and the local life. Our first stop is a photographic opportunity on a mountain top where we have a panoramic view of both side’s of the island, the Cretan Sea and the Libyan Sea.

We continue our journey to the plateau of Katharo passing through the biggest Forrest on the island, where the roads are non-existent and the mountains reach a height of 1.500 metres and there will be a refreshment stop at a local kafenion somewhere in this wilderness!!

We then continue through the dirt tracks, goat valley and across rivers, this is where the journey really gets exiting. Our next stop gives you the opportunity to take photographs from a helicopter view of the Lassithi Plateau from where we drop down to the plateau for your BBQ lunch, with unlimited wine.

After lunch we take you back in time on a visit to the Eco Village where you can see local crafts being made as they were in olden times. Our next stop is Zeus’s cave where mythology says that Zeus, the father of all the gods was born, there is a 4€ entrance fee and walking shoes are recommended.

Then on to Lassithi plateau where time has virtually stood still.  The local people are mainly farmers. You will also see many donkeys at work. We then make our way to Seli, where once again we have an opportunity to take photos of this unique scenery. As we continue driving, we reach the village of Krassi, which is famous for a 2,000-year-old plane tree and also has a natural spring water source.

Heading back we pass through the area of Selinari where you will see vultures, which are now an endangered species. This is a day full of many surprises.  The excitement is second to none!!!  You certainly won’t forget your fun day out on our GREAT ADVENTURE.
