My boyfriend Paul and I were really looking forward to our off-road jeep trip and we were not let down. From the moment we got in the 4x4 and met Harry our driver, we knew it was gonna be a great day. Also it was nice to meet the other people joining us. Lee and Maria, newly weds Nick and his wife and Kevin and his girlfriend from Ireland. The views were spectacular, the weather was red hot and my back was sweaty as hell,but I didn't care it was brilliant! Great to have plenty of stops for photo's and drinks. Also nice to try the cool water from the spring, very refreshing. Harry was comical, keeping us laughing all the way as well as Nick who couldn't get enough Raki at the old olive refinary. There was lots of food to choose from at lunch time when we stopped in Agios Konstantinos. I also tried the wine but too be fair I wish I hadn't so stuck to water :-) Then it was on to the cave of Zeus to burn them calories off. A hike up the hill and then down all them steps into the cave itself, fantastic! Make sure you take a light weight blouse or shirt with you though, it gets really cold down there, I'm glad I did. Then we were off again, this time to the village of Krassi to see the 2,000 year old tree. Steve one of the other drivers also has a funny tale about how people used to wash their clothes many years ago. Then unfortunatley the day came to an end and we were back off to our hotel. We really really really had a great time that day with everything that we did, but the drivers made it even better for us. Full of enthusiasm and they trully seemed to love their jobs, well who wouldn't! Paul and I cant stress enough if you ever go to Crete for a holiday do go on this top Safari Club adventure, you dont want to miss it!
