The Hotel is just of the left branch of the strip and you cant hear any noise from the strip. The room is fairly basic with a fridge mirror etc but is clean and has a comfy bed …but what else do u need? For its purpose I thought Hotel Irene was perfect and the hotel owner Irene will look after u if u stay on her good side!!
The only downer is that there isn’t any air con (not many places in Crete do!) and Irene lurks in the bushes waiting for u to come home and WILL NOT let ne1 near the hotel if she doesn’t recognise them…however the room stays pretty cool and u can get a fan. Also her strictness with not letting ne1 in stops any thieves getting - few friends stayin further down the strip had their phone nicked!
if ur lookin for a 5star hotel ur in the wrong place but if ur just gna use the room to sleep in and get ready its perfect! If I was to go back to Malia I would def stay at Hotel Irene!!

overall our experience atv irenes was generlly pleasant all though... after 10pm at night irene would patrol the area goin to all extents such as roof tops,balcony,windows and sneaky dark corners. she sits by the doorway waiting for dirty stop outs like myself at the time to try sneak 2 cCERTAIN indivial to our apartment! we failed every time! irenes a tricky one 2 work with!
